The Pain of Love



Transfixed, I am immobile in all senses
She intoxicates me with her pleading eyes
Oh those beautiful, beautiful eyes
Piercing, yet inviting me in
I could fall into her and never want out
I tell myself to look away so as not to be pulled in again
The memories still linger
Painfully etched on my heart
I cannot let it happen
The battle between my mind and my heart begins
She touches me and I am breathless
Words escape me and I have no answers
No shield exists that can protect me from her love
My heart yearns for her
It yearns even through the pain
And my broken tears give me away
I do not want to love her, but...
