Where phantoms of love rest
wondering the streets
of OUR city
echoes of love from the past
all around
different time of year
different people
but here - we held hands
and there - we laughed out loud
where did those times go?
they say happiness moves in one direction
away it flows
but before departure
it did leave us with pieces of...
something!
that each of us knows
but will never share with the rest of the world
an incredible, unbelievable story
truly, it was an adventure
it seems so long ago, and...
I smile
because here - we kissed
and there - we were perfect
I leave a rose on this intersection
remembering someone who made my heart glow, people don't understand, nor should they, neither of us shared this
with anyone
I keep walking
alone

p.s. dear reader, this piece was originally planned as a senryu, appeared in a spark of a moment really...but I WAS UNABLE to resist proliferating on the subject...
