Grief

Darrell Shook 1978 (North Carolina)

The time I saw the world stop
was when I wanted to give up.
Everyone was bothering me
I was like a volcano ready to erupt.
All I wanted was time alone
So I could deal with this pain.
No one understood what I meant
They was trying to help, but I was going insane.
I was doing the best I could
It wasn't ever good enough.
Every time I turned around
People asked me why I looked so rough.
I went to my favorite place to be alone
I looked up and seen a peaceful white dove.
Then realizing it's hard to move on
Especially when you lose someone you love.
