Why Am I
Román Ortega-Cowan 1935 (Habana)
We are flowers kissing rainbows
bright suns setting in the midst
We are wonderful reflections
which reflections reflect Thee
Thee, Creator, Mother-Father,
these earth mirrors reflect God.
Is God Father The Creator?
Or have we created God?
We are clay of life transformed
into humans, plants and beasts
In which God creates a wonder
wonder where we cease to exist.
If we're human chrysalides
morphing silently a next life,
we're cocoons of higher spirits,
pawns in God's eternal plan.
May in dreams before I morph
Whilst transforming in the dark
Learn the purpose for my being
WHAT is God, and WHY am I?
