Poems »

I'm 37 years old, and I've been writing poetry since my preteen years. My grandmother who raised me always told me to get them published, and I always made an excuse out of fear of rejection. When she passed away, her only daughter,u favorite aunt, continued expression her desire for me to get punished, which were met with similar excuses. I lost my aunt last year in April, and I feel like getting my poetry out into the world is both a good way to honor their memories and reach out to people who may feel like they're alone and sure them that no matter the situation, someone, somewhere understands, and there's always a reason to continue fighting, keep loving, and keep living.
