My brother is consumed
by the thought of
guerilla warfare.

It’s only a matter of time —
My generation are just
soldiers
without a war.

fish
and it breaks his heart
to leave his kids
when he goes away

weeds they grow so quickly
walk through them and they'll cling
pushing up and through her tired mind
sticking to bare, soft, vulnerable skin
thick, strong and determined
time and time again they win
the nature of unwanted thoughts
