The Poet

The Poet

Lest he to sate its human trait,
Falls nigh upon the eyes --
The Poet cites a morning plight,
Invites the dawn to rise.

Parable be but withered dust
Should word evoke no feel --
The psalmist brings, as if the Spring,
A warmth...

I Shall Not Be Small (5 syllable meter)

When he was a boy,
Life was dramatic --
He learned to be small
Safe in the attic.

Invisible child,
As slight as his word,
Made to be silent,
A shadow unheard.

Talk was restricted,
Speaking forbidden --
He dared not a peep,
His...

Soldier

Redemption comes and goes for the broken,
A life we lived of wounds unspoken.
We’ve spilled our blood for another man’s glory.
Now we live to tell our story.

In the end what was it for?
We gave ourselves for another man’s war.
The walls we...

Mortally Wounded: A Soldier's Tale

Imagine the glory of a love so mighty as
to inspire the hopeless to suffer the agony
of one more breath.

Mortally Wounded; A Soldier's Tale

He is bloody, fading and shattered,
Disabled, alone by himself --
His body's been brutally...

PTSD - The Soldier and the Bottle

Sands of time have brought us down
For blood we’ve spilled upon the ground
Promises were given and lies were told
Was the bill of goods that we were sold

They pin their medals and offer us pride
But the ones who lived are the ones who...

I do agree wholeheartedly that everyone has a right to be who they are. Having said that - many people are being steered in a very dangerous direction.

When these values are thrust onto the rest of society and that we're simply supposed to disengage eons of scientific evidence to the contrary of what is being taught, then someone has to be the voice of reason. What they're teaching kids in schools these days is horrifying.
I am as perfectly at peace with a man who prefers wearing a dress as I am with my own heterosexual nature. What I am not okay with, however, is this notion that somehow wearing said dress constitutes a biological swing to the opposite side of the biological field. Hence the overtone of the rant here.

When we profess to be a certain something, then science, biology, anatomy, physiology, etc must be the basis by which those assertions become viable or corrupt. If you're a man who prefers women's underwear, then by all means have at. But please don't charge the mound expecting us to believe you're anything but a male of the species who prefers women's underwear.

I refuse to alter 61-years of knowing the difference between a man and a woman just because some 16-year-old confused kid feels better in high heels than a jock strap. Do your deal, but don't run at us with that deal. There is seed and there is fertilization - nature's assurance of its own continuity. But for this biological fact no denier exists. End rant. LoL

I mean this is pretty much junk, but I needed to get it off my chest. Spontaneous annoyance is what it was. Not poetry inasmuch as tirade. LoL

Not even sure why I posted this. Spur of the moment annoyed at all the craziness in this world right now. I shouldn't have even posted the damn thing. LoL

If you don't stop stroking my ego and blowing up my head, how will I land? Hey, is that little speck down there my Philippine buddy? I'm like a regular satellite up yonder.

There's money in war and prestige in power. Most wars ever fought were not as a result of the narratives disseminated to the masses. Most wars via the industrial age have been bought and paid for, on both sides, by the same entities. Death and divisiveness are the mission as a means of controlling the masses. Gaza is not an end but rather a means and a symptom of a tyrannical power structure hell bent on maintaining its current dignity. Without getting too political, I would suggest reading Anthony Frank's book - Destroying America: The CIA's quest to control the government. I'll post a single excerpt so people understand the depth of what is going on. Again, these are NOT my words but those of the man who exposed KGB and CIA in government. "I know firsthand that Joe Biden is a CIA asset." - Let that sink in. Do not shoot the messenger as I am only reiterating what the man himself has cited. It begins and ends with people's willingness to stop believing media and start researching beyond the narrative. We've been lied to for far too long and it must stop. Beautiful message here, Arie. Thank you.

Also, just look at this poem itself. I entered this and put a lot of time into only to net no votes. If it doesn't strike a chord in someone, then here it sits withering away. LoL

Please don't ever feel like you can't compete, Al. Your work and words really are genuine and from the heart. If I didn't mean it, I wouldn't say it. Poetry is just an outpouring of ourselves commensurate to our individual personas. It's really not about anyone being better than or above anyone else. Most of my best, most complex poetry has yielded exactly zero votes in these contests. I made the swap to this style to try to relate to more people. It doesn't matter how complex a piece is if it doesn't resonate with people. Keep plugging along because, win or lose in these contests, someone, somewhere needs to hear our words. We all know that poetry, lyrics to a song, etc have saved many a soul over the eons. Thanks for the kind words, but please don't sell your own short. They deserve to be heard and they do have meaning. Peace....

I've written of depression in the past as well. It's a hard pill to swallow but one that many must contend with. This is a great outpouring and hopefully as medicinal for you as those of us who needed to read it. You have a purpose and this might just be it. Great job, Kristen.

Beautiful poem and so sentimental. I don't have kids but have always held a special place in my heart for little girls. They are precious. Great work, my friend.
