If you don't stop stroking my ego and blowing up my head, how will I land? Hey, is that little speck down there my Philippine buddy? I'm like a regular satellite up yonder.

To think I wrote it while standing on my head with both hands tied behind my back. I rule.

There's money in war and prestige in power. Most wars ever fought were not as a result of the narratives disseminated to the masses. Most wars via the industrial age have been bought and paid for, on both sides, by the same entities. Death and divisiveness are the mission as a means of controlling the masses. Gaza is not an end but rather a means and a symptom of a tyrannical power structure hell bent on maintaining its current dignity. Without getting too political, I would suggest reading Anthony Frank's book - Destroying America: The CIA's quest to control the government. I'll post a single excerpt so people understand the depth of what is going on. Again, these are NOT my words but those of the man who exposed KGB and CIA in government. "I know firsthand that Joe Biden is a CIA asset." - Let that sink in. Do not shoot the messenger as I am only reiterating what the man himself has cited. It begins and ends with people's willingness to stop believing media and start researching beyond the narrative. We've been lied to for far too long and it must stop. Beautiful message here, Arie. Also, just look at this poem itself. I entered this and put a lot of time into only to net no votes. If it doesn't strike a chord in someone, then here it sits withering away. LoL

Please don't ever feel like you can't compete, Al. Your work and words really are genuine and from the heart. If I didn't mean it, I wouldn't say it. Poetry is just an outpouring of ourselves commensurate to our individual personas. It's really not about anyone being better than or above anyone else. Most of my best, most complex poetry has yielded exactly zero votes in these contests. I made the swap to this style to try to relate to more people. It doesn't matter how complex a piece is if it doesn't resonate with people. Keep plugging along because, win or lose in these contests, someone, somewhere needs to hear our words. We all know that poetry, lyrics to a song, etc have saved many a soul over the eons. Thanks for the kind words, but please don't sell your own short. They deserve to be heard and they do have meaning. Peace.... more »

I've written of depression in the past as well. It's a hard pill to swallow but one that many must contend with. This is a great outpouring and hopefully as medicinal for you as those of us who needed to read it. You have a purpose and this might just be it. Great job, Kristen. more »
