Analysis of Music Can…
Stephanie Lorenz 1984 (Stuttgart)
RELAX, just let it all go
Let the wind take hold of you.
Let your soul run free
And don’t ever look back.
Breathe, nothing can suffocate you now.
No longer will you be tied down
By problems beyond your grasp
Don’t ever worry again.
Cry, so you can lose it all-
All your fear and anger.
Sob, until all you can do is smile,
Believe me it’s worthwhile.
SING, let the monster inside out,
Let the pain finally stop.
You’re Ready!
You can take control.
Take control yet lose it.
Confused? Don’t be!
Control your pain
Don’t let it control you.
But lose the control you have
Over your inner emotions.
There is this ball filled with fire
Growing in your mind, heart, body and soul.
Music CAN release it
And believe me,
It’s time.
It’s time for you to GROW UP
And be who you are supposed to be.
GO FOR IT!

About this poem
I wrote this my at the start of 2nd semester my senior year as a way to motivate myself to trust that becoming an opera singer will result in me beginning a healing journey at the same time.
