The Void

The void

We all live on the edge.
Some , by choice, have struggled there
Some, reluctantly propelled,
freeze above the ledge
But most, unaware ,
Stand with their backs to the void
And smile at the mellow pastures,
the sun , the cotton cloud
and pick wild flowers
as an idyl gesture of their permanence.

About this poem

sometimes I think I live in a state of deliberate ignorance...
