Gossamer wings

Demanding that I be
More than I thought I could
You let me see the world
And laughing,
Helped me to laugh at who I am.
And loving
Loved me with ferocity.

The gift you gave
( and give me still, so unawares )
is that you storm through life
holding tight;
and holding me
you flit and dance and dive.
A faeiry queen that leans on me;
And I on you; you lift me up,
On gassamer wings.

I may have helped you walk,
But you helped me fly.
You made me try
To be more than I thought I could .
Lifting me up on gossamer wings
You gave me a song to sing –
Floating, dancing
Soaring on gossamer wings.
