Calm/Storm
How often have I repaired my heart
Just to see it torn apart
How often have I hidden myself
Just to be exposed to the light
How often have I told her I love her
Just to hear no response
How often have I stared into the grey
Just to contemplate my purpose
How often have inched toward the edge
Just to wonder what lays beyond the ledge
I swear I can’t feel a thing anymore
But I somehow feel everything around me
How can I have so much empathy for everyone else
But care so little about myself
Tell me how does that make sense
How does that make sense
I am a detriment and an asset at the same time
The wreckage and the lighthouse
The calm and the storm
How does that make sense
