DANCING OUT LOUD
mad hippie poet 1974 (new jersey)
I want to climb this ladder-like Jack climbing the beanstalk and see through the clouds to kiss the sun and make love to the moon at night. And catch all the shooting stars in the sky and f*ck every wish goodbye. I'm hearing and seeing everything so damn deep. The images in the library of my mind will not let me sleep.
Who will sing me the sweetest lullabies from my childhood that want me to walk out of this life and return to reality with my favorite version of myself and drink in hand?
I can no longer help myself when I want to pour myself another drink of the things that others do not care to understand. I want to know the truth about the things that this animal sometimes wants to be a simple man.
What have I been in all of my lives? How did I make love to all of my wives? I'm getting naked and honest, raw, speaking, and spinning everything I saw in life. My words are my wisdom.
I want to be free, yet you wish to continue judging me. Well, put your ear to the ground and listen to the fucks I give. I left this world and my body long ago, going to places that an average person would be afraid to go.
Do you all forget that, in many ways, I paid my debt with no hurt or regrets, but this damn ghost of the past continues to haunt a version of me that no longer exists. I do not care to go back to those times that still travel once again through my mind.
I can no longer hide, for a fire is burning deep inside, and the flame is calling my name, saying dance and singing out loud. If it's not your ancestors, then it is yourself that you are making proud.
