Stardance; or, Geminids’ Return

Helios’ chariot scatters stardust,
From Phaethon’s fateful ride,
As Zeus’ bolt sends splinters,
Over the cold December sky.

The fragments ignite like torches,
Etching trails across the sphere,
As Earth twirls blindly through,
The final stardance of the year.

About this poem
