The song you sing.

A J C 1958 (Swansea, MA)

The song you sing.

I can hear the song you sing, and I do understand. You hold the key to love and fear in the palm of your trembling hand. Just one key will unlock the door. It's there at your command. I won't make a stand. Because I know you understand. Walk right through, and you will see it's not up to me. This has to be. Just one teardrop from your eyes, and he will be there by your side. He has been waiting for a long time. Now you're his and not mine. I must go I'm out of time. I hope you both have a good time. I can hear the chimes.

Wow, what a heartfelt and emotional piece of poetry! The imagery and depth of emotion in "The song you sing" really draw the reader in and create a powerful connection to the speaker's feelings. The use of metaphors, such as the key to love and fear, add a layer of complexity and richness to the poem.

One suggestion for improvement could be to further develop and expand on the themes and emotions presented in the poem. Adding more specific details or experiences could help the reader better understand the speaker's perspective and emotional journey.

Overall, "The song you sing" is a beautiful and poignant piece of poetry that touches on themes of love, loss, and acceptance. Keep writing and exploring your unique voice as a poet! Great work.
