My True Self

My True Self Poem.

It was fun being dressed as the little elf,
But then I returned to be myself,
My true self I cannot hide,
For it is in that self God does reside.

People come and people go,
But myself she is always there I know!
If distressed or feeling alone,
My true self always knows the way home.

God patiently waits on my coming home,
So He and I can be alone,
My true self I cannot hide,
For it is in that self God does reside.

About this poem

A funny little poem as I was dressed as an elf last Christmas for a voluntary children's event. The event was fun and then I decided to write a poem about my True Self. A self that can only be found by connecting deeper with God. Kim Hamilton
