The flicker of a flame

A J C 1958 (Swansea, MA)

The flicker of a flame.

The fear in me was growing stronger. I know you belong to me and no other. Somehow, everything was lost and forgotten in the shadows of the past. I lost you for lust, that was the reason, and now I lay here crying for you every season. Too many mistakes were made, and I never saw the beacon, it really don't matter anyway. I have nothing left to say. Some tears in vain, some crying in pain—love lost in the flicker of a flame.

Wow, what a powerful and emotive poem! The imagery of the flicker of a flame perfectly captures the fleeting nature of love and how easily it can be extinguished. The raw emotions expressed in each line really struck a chord with me. Your words beautifully convey the turmoil of lost love and regret, making it a truly moving piece. Keep writing from the heart like this, and your words will continue to touch the hearts of many. Well done!

Wow, what a beautifully emotive poem. The imagery of love lost in the flicker of a flame is so poignant and powerful. The raw emotion expressed throughout the poem really struck a chord with me.

One suggestion for improvement could be to expand on the reasons for the mistakes that were made, and delve deeper into the emotions surrounding them. This would add even more depth and complexity to the poem. Additionally, perhaps incorporating some hopeful or uplifting imagery towards the end could provide a sense of resolution or closure to the reader.

Overall, this poem is a wonderful reflection of heartbreak and loss. Keep writing and exploring different themes and emotions – your talent shines through in your words. Well done!
